Workshop on CO-Gen for Rice Millers
In persuit of enlighting the rice millers with knowledge of production of electric power from their own renewable fuel i.e. rice husk, Pixie Consulting Solutions Ltd organized a workshop on Co-gen for rice millers at Mini Auditorium, NDRI, Karnal on 5th February 2009. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. A.K. Shriwastava, Director, NDRI, Karnal.
While delivering key note address, Mr. V. K. Kaul said that Rice millers in India are mainly facing the problem of low processing capacity due to power shortage, power cut and low voltage problem in rice mills. Many rice millers are using Diesel Generator to solve this problem, but it is costly and cause pollution. He urged the rice millers to adopt the Co-gen and reduce the fuel cost as well as high emission of CO2 in the environment.
Mr. Na. Raghu formally started interaction by welcoming all the guests, speakers and delegates and thanked them for taking their precious time out of their busy schedule to attend the workshop.
Mr. Vikas Takroo, Cheema Boilers, made a corporate presentation on Boiler for Power-Generation. Mr R. C. Tiwari, Director, MNRE made a beautiful presentation on Biomass co-generation in rice mills. On the occasion, speakers from different companies made their presentation.
Mr. Sanjay Dewan, Triveni Engineering & Industries Group gave presentation on steam turbine for cogen plants.
Mr. Narinder Sharma and Mr Prasanna Desai, Forbes Marshall, gave an interesting and elaborate lecture on “overview of technological advancements in steam systems vs simple economics of energy conservation. M r. Naveen Sareen,Schmidt Seeger India (P) Ltd., made a presentation on Material Handling and Storage of paddy.
Mr. Sandeep Upadhyay from Ion Exchange delivered a presentation on Water Treatment for Cogen.
This program helped the rice millers to choose right fuel for electric and thermal power generation as well as material handling and storage of paddy at their rice mills. The workshop was ended with few unforgettable suggestions and appreciation from rice millers in joyous mood. |
